Butterfly Lady Pendant

This pendant was designed based on a fashion model photograph which featured a butterfly alighting on the nose of a fashion model, creating a quiet moment of interaction between figure and form. The butterfly feels as if it has just arrived or is about to lift away, adding a sense of pause and subtle motion. The pendant was carved from Peruvian Opal with a silver butterfly on her nose, and another larger butterfly emerging from a crysalis as her hair. The wings of the larger butterfly are enhanced by a thin layer of Lepidolite ( a violet colored mica) and the eye features a segment of a seed pearl.
