Fire Opal Tourmaline Climate Crisis Ring

This complex interplay of irregularly shaped Opal, traditional cabochon Tourmaline, and smaller faceted brilliant cut Tourmalines, help to create the Climate Crisis composition of this unique ring. With the varied greens of the Tourmalines set to represent the central, as yet undisturbed green forests, the curves of the irregularly shaped Fire Opals wrap over the central stone mimicking flames of fire engulfing the remaining green spaces. The setting of silver with 18K gold accents is further shaped to suggest the branching trees. This ring along with many of my works, focus on issues of climate change and the animals and surrounding nature affected by our rapidly changing environment. The composition feels active and unsettled, holding a sense of urgency without becoming chaotic.
