This pendant features a unique interplay of both natural and synthetic crystals, brought together by their complementary shape and color. The design arose from the crystaline shape of the Halo Malachite, which is suggestive of a gingko leaf (one of my favorite shapes in nature), and with that in mind, the large Danbarite Crystal sits below the Malachite with a cap of carved Silver Gingko leaves. To create further the cohesiveness of the piece, as well as draw the eye down from the shimmering Malachite cap, a cluster of Chatham Emerald crystals is set onto the reflective surface of the clear crystal. The varied tones and surfaces of the Chatham emerald and Malachite move through the piece like veins within the leaf. The composition feels organic and open, guided by natural shape rather than ornament.
