Kiawah Flower and Bee Brooch

$450.00
This brooch features a flower paired with a bee, captured in a quiet moment of interaction. The design was borrowed from lovely wildlife illustration in the Kiawah Island Conservancy publication, created by Roksolana Tkach, and representing a Baptista alba, flower, with a bee on its surface. Returning once again to nature, bees, and the "nhabitants" of our home away from home on Kiawah Island, SC, I carved the branch from Jet, created the petals with Freshwater Pearls, and the Bee in Silver and Gold, complete with pollen on its legs, created from ground Bumblebee Jasper. The bee appears settled rather than in motion, giving the scene a sense of pause and attention. The composition feels balanced and natural, focused on connection rather than ornament.
