This large octopus pendant was created using both Ishidashi metal work (a variant of chasing-repose), with fabrication of the silver. The body of the Octopus is a vibrant green boulder opal, and the eye a faceted blue zircon. The ring design on the octopus is created with Keumboo application of 23.5 K gold to the silver surface (Keumboo is a Korean metal art technique which upon proper preparation of the silver and application of the gold, there is a permanent molecular bond between the two metals. The pendant hangs from a faceted Peridot necklace.
